Freeze the tofu for at least an hour. Skip this step if you’re short on time but freezing the tofu prior helps to make it chewy, dense, and juicy.

Thaw the tofu in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. Drain the excess liquid and then press the tofu for 10 minutes.

Mix the marinade ingredients in a small bowl.

Slice the tofu into ½ inch thick strips.

Tear or cut them into 1-inch pieces.

Place the pieces in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
