Vegan Kolaches Texas Klobasnek

Melt the vegan butter and dice the jalapeños. Cook the vegan breakfast sausage according to the instructions on the package.

Combine half of the flour with the other dry ingredients. Heat the plant milk until it reaches 120°F.

Stir In the wet ingredients. Add in the rest of the flour. Keep stirring for about 2 minutes until the dough easily comes away from the edge of the bowl.

Knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes until it’s smooth and stretchy. Roll it into a ball. Put the ball in a bowl and cover it loosely. Place the bowl in a warm corner of the kitchen or in the microwave to rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 sections using a pastry cutter or knife. Roll out the sections by flattening each one with your fingers. Then, use a roller to roll them out into ovals large enough to fit the vegan sausage links.

Fill the kolaches by adding the vegan sausage, vegan cheese, and jalapeños. Seal the seams by pinching them together. Place each roll on a lightly greased baking sheet, seam side down.

Let the dough rise by covering the tray with a kitchen towel and placing it in a warm corner of the kitchen or the microwave for 30 minutes.

Brush them with a light layer of plant-based milk and bake them at 375°F for about 15 minutes or until they are golden-brown on top.
