Vegan Texas Kolaches

Pillowy soft dough is filled with plant-based sausage, melted dairy-free cheese, and spicy jalapeños in these Texas Vegan Kolaches

Ingredients Needed

Cook the vegan breakfast sausage in a skillet. 

Combine half of the flour with the cane sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Heat the plant milk to 120°F.

Pour the milk and melted butter into the flour mixture. Stir them together, then add in the rest of the flour. 

Knead the dough until it’s smooth and stretchy. Roll it into a ball. Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 sections. Roll each one into an oval. 

Add the vegan sausage, cheddar shreds, and jalapeños. 

Roll the dough around the filling and pinch to seal the seams.

Cover the kolaches with a towel and place them in a warm corner for 30 minutes so they can rise.

Bake them for 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
