These Jackfruit Burgers are so easy and delicious! All plant-based ingredients easily come together to form the most crave-worthy patties. They are crispy on the outside and so full of irresistible savory flavor on the inside!

This easy jackfruit patty recipe makes 4 patties but it’s probably best to double or triple it because everyone will be coming back for more!

They are so incredibly simple to make, yet packed full of flavor. Once you try these homemade veggie burgers, you will not want to go back to store-bought!

After the jackfruit, the oats are the next big hero of this recipe. They not only add a balance to the slightly tangy jackfruit, but they absorb extra moisture and hold everything together. Then, the ketchup and nutritional yeast give them a classic cheeseburger flavor.

We like to whip them up when we’re having a family burger night and I always make extras to freeze for later!

All you do is process the oats in a food processor before adding in the rest of the patty ingredients and blending them into a moist mixture.

Then, I let it chill for half an hour so the flavors can come together. When we’re ready to eat, I cook them in a sizzling hot pan for the best lunch or dinner!

Ingredients And Substitutions

Labeled ingredients for jackfruit burgers.
  • Oats – Use rolled oats or a little less if they are already in the form of oat flour. Oats are great for balancing the sweet tang from the jackfruit as well as holding the patty together.
  • Jackfruit – Just one can of jackfruit is used to make 4 patties!
  • Onion – I like to use sweet onion, but any other favorite works.
  • Nutritional Yeast – This adds a slight cheesy flavor as well as absorbs excess moisture.
  • Ketchup – Adds mouthwatering traditional “burger” flavor.
  • Seasoning – The perfect combination of paprika, garlic powder, salt, chili powder, pepper, and dried oregano take these jackfruit burgers over the top!
  • Olive Oil – A very thin layer of oil in the pan helps create a crispy, golden-brown patty. Avocado oil can work as well.
  • Burger Toppings – Use any of your favorites!

Enjoy your jackfruit burgers with your favorite toppings!

Hint: The patties are very moist before being cooked. This juiciness helps to keep them from crumbling apart during the cooking process.

Helpful Tips

  • Wait until the pan is sizzling hot before adding the patties to the oiled pan.
  • Try not to overcook the burgers! Sear the outside but they should still be juicy for the best veggie burger!
  • Make them spicy by adding pickled jalapeños and cayenne to the patty mixture.

Storage & Reheat

Place the cooked patties in a sealed container and refrigerate them for 5 days or freeze them for 3 months. Reheat them on a medium heated skillet until heated through. If frozen, defrost them in the microwave or overnight in the refrigerator first.
